Jenkins Reid has a really good writing style in this book, and I like that it jumped through different points of view throughout time. Daisy was one of the most ambiguous characters, which I loved, and
Billy…Billy had such a problem and you always thought he was gonna relapse.

It felt like I was watching a classic band documentary so it was a very different style of book. That being said I was told it was a murder mystery so I was really confused when no one died within the first half of the book.

Hot take: I didn't enjoy the second half of the story and it ruined the entire book for me.
I understand the power and point of Camila's character as a "don't take bullshit" attitude but she took bullshit every turn and point of Billy's career. I thought that her conversation with Daisy at the end of the book was such a shallow take on "taking a stand/ownership of how I want my life". Which is great for women, we should have the autonomy and confidence to choose how we want our life. She chose Billy. But at the end of the day, why would I fight for a man who put me through hell while raising three daughters? Why would I feel this sense of superiority over Daisy? Who had so many issues of her own? (Even though she wanted better for her, the last conversation was demeaning to me). Daisy's love for Billy made sense and kept the entire thing interesting but at the end of the day, they loved each other so much they were terrible for one another. This happens in reality but it just didn't hit home the way that I felt like it could have. I just believe I'm just not the intended audience for the book.
