This was really good.. but it reminded me so much of the first book. For example:
SpoilerThe chasing as foreplay, the stalkers, the trackers they put on the girls without their knowledge, the hostage situation, the sneaking into their bedrooms, the making copies of their keys...
and that's just to name a few. Nothing was shocking to me anymore. Aside from maybe
SpoilerTHE FUCKING TATTOO HE GAVE HER AFTER HE DRUGGED HER?????
Hello??????? Anyway....

If anything, I just wish I waited a bit longer to read this book so soon after reading Brutal Obsession so it wasn't as fresh in my mind. Regardless, books in the same series shouldn't be this similar.

Four stars because S. Massery sure does know how to make you question your sanity when you're rooting for the evil fucking dude to get the girl who absolutely doesn't deserve any of his bullshit. Welp.

While I was not as obsessed with this one as I was with Brutal and Twisted Obsession, I definitely still enjoyed this to the point that I started and finished this book today.
I read this series out of order and, as such, forgot what tropes were included in this story. I will forever be a fan of the step-sibling trope... especially with this one because I didn't expect that twist at the beginning of the book.
In order to gain more stars for me, I kind of wish that her tr@umA from her childhood was touched on more. I know it doesn't technically have to do with the romance, but it seemed to me that it had a bit to do with her wanting to feel out of control while doing the seggsy time, so that was a little bit lacking for me... Also... the roommate and the uncle... wut?!
All in all, I still enjoyed this story, but there were just things missing for me that prevented me from rating it higher.

I do not enjoy this specific type of dark romance. The bullying is too heavy.

Aspen and Steele are supposed to be just one night of fun… primal play, anything goes kind of fun. They explore their deepest, darkest sexual fantasies and then go their separate ways, not knowing that they are soon to be step brother and sister.

When Steele’s dad asks Aspen to spy on Steele for him, Steele becomes angry and takes it out on Aspen in any way possible. He tries to make her seem unstable and attempts to undermine her at the university. There are lines he crosses that makes Steele one hell of a jack wipe. He drugs her, he spreads rumors that she’s a sex worker, anything he can do to make her life a living hell. But he starts to fall for her anyway and then the Touch Her and You Know What trope kicks in, HARD!

Steele is one of my favorite bad boys on the hockey team. He has these deep, dark desires that he wants to act out and he needs a woman who can handle him. As always, there is a twist and Aspen needs to be saved at the end. Out of the three hockey God books, this one is by far my favorite!!

Step out the way Greyson cuz Steele is here! Devious Obsession is everything I want in a dark romance… It is taboo, stepsister/stepbrother, stalker, obsessive/possessive MMC and so much more. This is something you definitely need to read the TW for! Some of the subjects will definitely be sensitive in this book!

Overall I love Steele and Aspen so much! Aspen loves music and is a more curvy FMC! She has gone through some stuff in here life and it has only made her stronge.
While at the beginning I do get a little annoyed with Steele I know it is for a reason and that proves to be so true by the end of the boook. I love that he just gravitates towards Aspen and just becomes so obsessed with her that he can’t help it.
I loved the character development and growth that S. Massery puts into her book and really can’t wait to dive into the Secret Obsession as we get just a glimpse inside of his character in this book.
Overall 5 stars and 5 on the spice!
