This book had so many layers of twists. Not to mention a connection between the past and present with the characters.

It goes between three generations of a family's women and all are connected. But how so is both surprising and obvious from the beginning of the story.  That is if you pay attention. What they had to go through from the early 1910's through the mid-1930s was both good and bad.

I was in awe yet shocked at the little evolution. From their original home to the life they had to endure in America.  And everything in between. Them figuring out their love lives. To family conflicts and tension that built up.

For the youngest generation that a majority of the story was about.  It all was wrapped up in a completely forward way. Despite the issues they faced and the separation caused by it.
