Probably one of the books that started the whole historical romance genre! This was first published in 1965 and Sourcebooks is publishing it with a dashing new cover. I have to say that this book reminds me of tropes that are in so many historical romance titles, however kinda cool to think that this is actually the book that inspires them all

YAY! Another Heyer book I adored.

Frederica is an adorable book about a girl who only wants the best for her family. So she appeals to her cousin to help them out in society. Meanwhile, her cousin who is so bored, so dissinterested in helping others, ends up finding himself time-and-time again helping the family out in their various scrapes... only to find himself falling for the plain beauty. BUT DOES SHE LOVE HIM BACK?

I just love Heyer's writing and I always love the way she puts comedy into her books. Another thing I love is that there is no sex in these books. There is witty dialogue, beautiful inner monologues and exciting plot points.

I can't wait to read another book by hers!

I think this is my favorite Georgette Heyer so far, honestly. And primarily because the cast of characters was just SO delightful.

This is the second Heyer book that I have read and it was as much fun as the first one. What I liked in the story was the light mode of the novel in spite of heart breaks and life's usual adversities. It is not so emotionally packed like Gone with the Wind, but a good read none the less.
