This was a very interesting book. I really loved the premise (reminded me a bit of the Divergent series, which was cool). I didn't really love the writing style, but that's how I feel about most classics. The ending was a bit wild, but really worked well with the rest of the story. The characters were all though out really well, as was the world Huxley created, I definitely enjoyed the science side of the book, and the creativity behind it.

This was a fantastic read! A dystopian setting that could almost be utopian. I agree with Huxley that there could've been alternatives to civilised vs savage societies, though the duality was made to feel more intense. It was thought provoking in what then would make an 'ideal' society, and I found myself agreeing with the rulers and inhabitants of the civilised world, but also with the savage.

This book was disturbing and fascinating. A future world with the illusion of equality, but there's no equality at all.

A new world where people are engineered from conception. There are no mothers, no fathers, no family. Everyone is for everybody and sex is encouraged frequently and with many different partners. But not everyone is drinking the Soma; the drug that keeps them happy, but not too happy, just a calm happy. A holiday to reservation where children are born naturally and families exist, upends the carefully curated, science created world.

A very interesting read.

I tried to get through this and find it interesting but I just couldn't. I listened to it as an audiobook which allowed me to get as far as I did as I wouldn't have gotten as far as I did by reading it.
