I didn’t love this series, but that wasn’t the fault of the overall plot (that’s pretty much the only thing I liked about it)

I’ll start off by noting that the narrators really annoyed me throughout, so it took me out of the story somewhat.

In addition, the author needed to do more homework if they wanted to write historical fiction. There was a messy reference to every religion around at that time period, even though most of them wouldn’t have been known in some of these cultures.

Furthermore, the reference to “Princess of England” annoyed me throughout, as England didn’t exist - it would have been just as well to make them princesses of a smaller region like Wessex etc.

There was also a reference to lightening, which I know was for the benefit of the reader to be able to depict what was happening, however it still drew me out the story,

And finally, there were bits of story that was totally irrelevant and unnecessary to the overall plot that just felt stupid.

Absolutely loved this book just like the past two in the trilogy. I plan to buy the entire trilogy in physical format because I need to have these copies to read over and over again. 💗
