I just finished the book and I loved it! book 1 was too short for me but it was good.

Things to love about this book:
- Not all characters are white people which is great! I don’t have anything against white people but it’s past time we have more diversity of characters.
- Girls/ Heroines are not skinny with long limbs and satiny hair, which I loved even more! It’s past time we have dark skinned heroines with beautiful curly hair and a few extra pounds, stretch marks and cellulite!
- Her characters are perfectly imperfect and super relatable.
- Heroines are not your typical damsel in distress, they are assertive and smart

This was such a heavy character driven romance. Elizabeth and Issac go through pretty massive overhauls in their own self views as a result of the confidence their love gives each other. I am so impressed with Hibbert's abilities as a writer. She makes you feel SO much as a reader. I cannot recommend her books enough.

Gah! I LOVED Isaac and Lizzie! Loved them so so much. Isaac is the kind of guy I absolutely adore. The big, tough, scary looking guys who are actually big teddy bears. He was so sweet. People misunderstand him all the time because he is quiet and doesn't talk much, but Lizzie sees him. And he sees her. They were great. I especially loved how it all ended. How they lived happily ever after. Man, I know I say this after every book by this author, but this really might be my favorite. I love this author!

I liked that the liar revealed plot never was forced. I like that Lizzie behaved like a good person all the way through. I didn't really care for either of the mcs I didn't find them very compelling. I really loved the brother and I actually just finished reading his book and maybe my expectations were a little high.

Isaac is a convicted murderer who's served his time, he has trust issues and he's a bit reclusive/quiet because he thinks it's wrong for people to treat him like a star just because he's written a couple of books about the penal system. Then he meets Lizzie who flat out tells him that him profiting off his victims death is vulgar.
Lizzie is a former prima ballerina who has developed Type 1 diabetes, she wasn't initially taking care of herself and she was told to take a break, instead she quit. She now teaches private lessons to the Spencer's 3 daughters, then their father decides to blackmail her into getting information he can use against Isaac to get him to sign his new, very bad, contract.
This is an angsty story with interesting MC's. TW: homophobia(severe)
