I love how each book in this series is from a different point of view. Because this book takes Morwen's view, all of her cats become major characters in their scenes. That makes this book even funnier.

Pretty much catnip for me. They're soft and gentle without being twee and annoying (you know those mystery novels with the pink covers and the teapots and the cats and the puns in the title? That's too twee for me!), well-written, and about 1,000 times more compelling (for me) than her Lyra series, which I'm having trouble getting through.

(Note: 5 stars = amazing, wonderful, 4 = very good book, 3 = decent read, 2 = disappointing, 1 = awful, just awful. I'm fairly good at picking for myself so end up with a lot of 4s). I feel a lot of readers automatically render any book they enjoy 5, but I grade on a curve!

I know this book was written to be a bit of a filler, and that is how it felt. I had a hard time getting through it, and all the cats were pretty annoying, though I really enjoy Morwen. There wasn't much of story there, for me, but the built up to the next book was nice.

Not bad, just disappointing in such a great series!

The Enchanted Forest Chronicles are always a delight. I've yet to read them without pleasure and without noticing something new.

This was mostly fine, pretty similar to the other books. Until that FUCKING SHITTY ENDING. Cimorene was a bad bitch for two books and then in this one we go full old fairy tale bullshit and all she's good for is making a stupid baby. The book ends with her about to be separated from the king for 16 ish years because only his heir can break the spell.

I HATE IT SO MUCH.
