The second installment in the Chilling Effect story was as fun and adventurous as the first. We finally learn what happened on Garilia, and the universe is in danger. The characters are great in this series. They make me laugh, but they're also fleshed out well. The cats played a bigger role! The only hiccup is my mind would wander occasionally during descriptions, so something wasn't completely gripping me. I was happy all around with this book, and I'm excited for book three.

I haven't read the first book, so a lot of the plot stuff was lost on me. But this was a fun book. Eva deserves a vacation.

Really fun, and better than the first. The little episodes have a stronger thread trying them together, and there are enough wins to be satisfying. In the first book, they couldn't catch a break for the entire first half and it was exhausting. Also, the cats are mentioned more often!
