This book is so triggering. Abortion, abuse, sex, infanticide, matricide … this book is a lot.

Perhaps it’s a consequence of the “thriller” genre, but I find the way these kinds of books to develop leaves much to be desired. I feel like the first half of the book was setup and then the denouement and finish were lackluster and rushed. In the acknowledgments she mentioned that she hadn’t finished the book until four days before press so maybe that’s got something to do with it

This is the craziest book I’ve ever read and I loved every minute of it.

I have yet to write a 5 star review for a book but Verity has left me absolutely at a loss for words. I will avoid spoilers but this book contains all of what you would expect from a Colleen Hoover novel and more.

I literally couldn’t put this book down and finished it in 2 days. I cannot recommend it enough!

Interesting concept w/ bad execution. Wants you to really believe it’s a shocking story. It insists upon itself Lois.

I read this so fast, it was hard to put down. I wanted to keep flipping the page, as each end of a chapter is skillfully and strategically leaving you wanting more. Its dark themes and flawed characters keep you coming back. Although it wasn’t very inspiring or necessarily remarkable reading, it was a quick and easy story to digest.

I have a feeling of emptiness after reading the book. I need to know what else, what more? So many theories and questions swirl my mind.
