Boy, did I LOVE this book!
This is the first book by Kristan Higgins I have read and I've already downloaded another one.

Honestly, there is not one thing in this book I did not like.

This jumps to the top of my favorite books of the year!

3.5 stars. I don't want to say this is probably my least favorite Kristan Higgins book, but this was probably my least favorite Kristan Higgins book. It was just so relentlessly sad. And it never felt gratuitous, but it was still just so hard to read at times. All that said, Nora was a really full character who I think I could easily know and be friends with. I also totally loved Scupper Island and all of the characters there. If you like Kristan Higgins then I certainly recommend this book, but be prepared for some sadness.

I can always count on Kristan Higgins for a heart-warming tale that transcends the usual romance novel. Her characters are complex, her story detailed and always leaves me crying happy/sad tears in the end. I adore her writing and this story was no exception. ❤️😭

There's nothing like a painful hit by a bug-blasting van to slow Nora to the point where she re-evaluates her family, relationship, and job. She heads back home, rents a house boat for her recovery time, and starts to spend more time with her mom, niece, and old classmates. This book moves well, and characters are easy to relate to.

Love this book. As always, Kristan's book is more life than love -- although there is a love interest in the book. Love the characters -- Bobby/Robert, Gloria, Poe, Lilly, Nora, etc. Kristan has a great voice for distinguishing them. This book is kind of about recovery -- but that sounds dreary -- this is about making your life what you want it to be. Definitely recommend!

Very easy read. If you like Elin Hilderbrand novels this story has a similar vibe with small island town feel.

Book #5: In my opinion, this was my favorite book of the summer! 5/5 (There may be bias due to the Boston and Maine settings) Of all the ones I’ve read before and after this, I still go back to recommending this! Easy read and really captures you. There are a lot of elements to this story - family issues, suspense, love, and hope! I now hope to find Scupper Island & cannot wait to get my hands on another book of hers (🤞🏼crossed that any of hers don’t let me down after this one)
