More like a 3.5/3.75 stars. I liked the concept of the Harry Potter dark academy vibes but I just wished there was more to the magic in the book. I wanted to see more of how the magic is wielded and mastered and instead it’s mentioned briefly and instead we got repetitive inner turmoil from Micah. I’m hoping by the second book we will see her fighting more with her powers. As for the Soul tethers thing, I’m a little confused at this point but I’m just going along for the ride. I love Try’s and Ty of course. I don’t even mind Rodyn, I like the enemies to lovers vibe going on. I kinda wish it went on for longer, he should’ve hit rock bottom before he switched up at the end. As for Esme, she kinda gets on my nerves, after what she goes through towards the end, you would think she would activate her bad bitchness by now but instead she rather be a coward and it’s frustrating. Also I didn’t like how Micah was being protected all the time, like I get it, but she supposed to not be a damsel in distress but that’s exactly how she comes off. I was ready to read about all these wild fights that she would come across and instead it’s been tame. Overall decent but I hope the next one is better because if it gets repetitive like it was starting to towards the end, it might end up getting dnfed

Tedious, but also way too fast paced.

This was a really fun time! I kept grinning at how silly and sweet two of Micah’s Soul Tethers are—Ty and Trys. This is definitely a fantasy world, but it’s also set in modern times with cellphones and tablets and modern language.

There isn’t actually a whole lot of sex scenes in this, but the scenes there are, are explicit. And while I usually like more sex in a smutty romance, I wasn’t let down at all by this because you can feel the tension throughout and there’s plenty else going on to keep you engaged.

If you like paranormal romance that’s fast paced, funny, and sexy and don’t mind dark themes like death—a lot of it—and morally grey characters, definitely check this out.

If spelling mistakes really ruin a story for you, probably stay away from this. Nothing egregious, but fairly frequent.

Yes!  I'm so hooked!  This series was a FaceBook recommendation in the ads and it was worth the click!! I read it on KU and I am adding it to my physical library immediately.  It hit all my buttons as a quick fantasy romance read with black a main black female character.  And that ending is making me jump right into book two.

Now is the writing perfect and full of gorgeous prose and sentence structure and epic world building, no. But keep me turning pages and and interested.  I am invested in the characters both loving and hating them.  My Ty and Trys, oh my hearts. and Micah is a bad B***h!

Great read!

This book was the best read of the year. Excellent character development and vivid descriptions made it impossible to put down. I am excited for book 2.

It feels like I NEED to read the next book. Not because I want to, but the cliffhangers and unresolved plots deserve an ending.

Omg! When I saw the blurb for this book I knew I need it. This book was a great read. This was one book I couldn't put down. Micah has been waiting to get into Caelum but when the package for HellNight Academy her world is about to change. This book had more secrets than fort knox. This book did leave off on an omg cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what happens next. If you love paranormal, why choose, fated mates and secrets this book is for you!
