I didn't realize this was a series book. But it is still a good book. I enjoyed it. Now I'm going to have to pick up the rest of the series.

The long awaited wedding between Laurie and Alex is finally here! However, as always, things don't go smoothly. While relaxing at a beach spa to celebrate Alex's birthday just days before the wedding, Alex's 7 year old nephew Johnny is kidnapped. Various theories are explored as Laurie and Alex race to find the missing boy. There are several stories going on at once and each one is told from a different POV. There is a motorcycle accident that goes wrong at the beginning, an adoption, and an old case that comes back to haunt Laurie's father.

I listened to the audiobook version of this book and really enjoyed it. The narrator does an excellent job of bringing each of the characters to life. It's a classic Mary Higgins Clark mystery and continues the story of the enjoyable characters of Laurie and Alex. It could be read as a stand alone, but it is better read as the seventh book in the Under Suspicion series.

I was really looking forward to the conclusion to the Under Suspicion series. I have enjoyed this entire series but we hardly heard anything from Laurie’s coworkers or boss. For that matter we hardly heard anything from Laurie herself. So much of the story focused of completely new characters. Anyway I was bummed because I wanted one last adventure with the original cast I have come to know and love.

This book was really entertaining. Full of twist and turns. The authors kept you engaged and collaborated so well together.

Television presenter Laurie and her fiancé Alex are getting married and the whole family is with them ready to celebrate their union in just a few days. Happiness turns to tragedy when Alex’s nephew goes missing.

Johnny vanishes from the back and the alarm bells are go though the roof when the realise he’s been kidnapped. Family secrets come to light and the twists and turns keep you in suspense. Laurie uses her contacts to obtain information but is it enough to find Johnny before it’s too late?

This book had me hanging on the edge of my seat at the end, I really enjoyed joining the dots and putting all the pieces together. I didn’t realise it was book 7 in the under suspicion series, you definitely don’t need to read the previous 6 to read this one.
