A really heartbreaking backstory for Zuko’s mother Ursa. My issue with this novel is that it had some ableist themes, e.g. being scarred means you’re bad. There was a note by one of the writers of the show about Azula becoming unhinged and how the artist changed the art style to show “Azula’s split personality”. Yes Azula is fkd up, but let’s not demonise mental illness.
Graphic: Confinement, Emotional abuse, and Violence
Moderate: Schizophrenia/Psychosis , Colonisation, and War
