We finally get some answers to big ATLA fandom questions!
Azula is a tough character to spend so many pages with, and the “sweeties” between Aang and Katara still bothered me, but I was pleased to see Zuko get his happy ending.

The way it ended
with the mother of faces just suddenly agreeing to help and giving out three gifts
kind of confused me but it was great otherwise :)
I love Fire Nation royal family lore

I love this world so much & am always to excited to experience a piece of it again with every graphic novel/novel instalment I read. “The Promise” I had really mixed feelings on, I do have some on this one as well, but for the most part I really liked it. I love that it answered the question of what happened to Zuko & Azula’s mother, but it actually made me hate their mother a little bit in doing so. The decision she made to forget her children felt so out of character and out of left field & I really didn’t like that route at all. I did however enjoy the complexities of Azula’s mental illness and how it was explored throughout this graphic novel. While she’s the main villain throughout the show, this graphic novel added a lot of dimension to her character & made me feel a lot more sympathetic of her as a character. I still stand by that I hate how Aang & Katara are written as a couple in these & it’s making me really dislike the two of them.

A masterpiece. The lore added was great and how they managed to answer what happened to Ursa was also really well done and thought through. You can see how careful the authors are in every detail.
