It was ok. The plot was interesting but the things in between felt like too much information and filler. Sex scenes weren’t written well. For the first 200 pages you are confused, and for the nest pages you contunde to be confused but now with more information. I really wanted to know Howe the story ends, so o went through all these pages. It’s ok., not my cup of tea. It’s probably one of the better books in the series.

For the most part I enjoyed this new world that Armentrout created, but I've also found some confusion and annoyance like others whose reviews I've read. She confuses me with the era this is supposed to be set in. Some comments made would have never been used in a more medieval time (which is how I picture where the characters should be living) and other words just bug the crap out of me. I could never hear the word "britches" again and be completely fine with that. 

I do enjoy the banter between the characters for the most part. It's enjoyable for me to hear conversation, especially when choosing to do audiobook. And Armentrout has created, in my opinion, a different world of vampires and werewolves in which I'm excited to learn a bit more about within her next novels of this series.

This book stared out kind of slow and I had a hard time getting into it but once it picked up I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the characters and the romance as well as the world, though the world building was confusing in the beginning there is a good reason for that. I’m exited to read the next book and continue the story

That said I do think it’s important to mention the the POC rep in this book is terrible. Most of the characters in this book are white and those who aren’t are in service to main white characters. Additionally one of them turns into an wolf. Not to mention their names, Tawny and Kieran, mean brown and “little dark one” respectively. (This was pointed out by mynameismarines on tiktok I didn’t realize it myself)
