The writing left much to be desired but it was a fun enough read.

Wanted to give Jennifer one last chance to see if there was a book I'd like from her. Turns out I won't be able to get those hours back. If you like a vanilla fantasy romance then go for it! Just no longer my cup of tea.

Had me hooked. The world building was a bit weak but I was still enthralled. The twists and turns were great.

I'm surprised to see a lot of terrible reviews on this - but given the fact that I read it in 4 days (and would have read it much sooner if I didn't have a job and a family 😂), it's safe to say that I really enjoyed it.

I looooove slow burn and descriptive writing. Really the only negative on this for me is that I could see the plot twist coming, but that wasn't a huge deal to me.

Re-reading this as an audiobook was such a delight! Stina Nielsen does an impeccable job bringing Poppy and Hawke to life. My only gripe is that there was some inconsistency with the voice choices of different characters, so it was sometimes hard to keep track of who was speaking at specific times.
