I have never before read a book in text/chat format. I recognized many of the works and enjoyed a “behind the scenes” look into historical literary characters.

Extremely entertaining and quick read that feels like you're having an inside joke with your favorite book/ author. I loved many of them but my particular favorites were the one regarding Jane Eyre (Rochester:DID YOU LEAVE BECAUSE OF MY ATTIC WIFE?) and Edgar Allan Poe's misadventures with a bird that just won't stop staring at him. Loved it and would actually probably get more out of it with a second read.

Cute concept. Everyone seems to have a similar dramatic voice somewhat related to their character. Good for a giggle.

What starts as a cute and funny concept quickly becomes tiresome when you’re reading 230 pages of it.

This one made me actually laugh out loud several times, which is rare. It did get slightly repetitive for a few authors/books, but otherwise was great!

:D

this is fun although i would caution you that it's 'read on and off' fun more then 'read all in one go on your commute fun' because the jokes will run together a bit if you do that

also it's a lot funnier if you've read or at least heard of the book being referenced in any given text

but yeah. good times!

sister book: dude just go to the awl and read the texts from column, it's still ongoing. also, watch male novelist jokes when you're done, you won't regret it

This was amusing in the beginning, but grew dull as I continued. The format for the txts are the same tone and changed briefly for the different fictional characters you encounter. Overall, had a good laugh but prob would never read again.
