I’ve been stewing over all I want to say about this book after finishing it last week. If you knew me, you’d know my deep love for all books, movies and tv shows that are witchy. From the very first time I read the synopsis, I knew I was going to fall in love with The Unmarked Witch. And now, after finishing the book, I can say that I am in awe of how incredible it was. Not only was the magic system unlike any I’ve read (spells appearing as tattoos on your skin), the world building was well thought out (7 covens of witches), but the characters were the part that made the story much more unforgettable!!

Raven is the only witch on record whose spells don’t form on her skin. And while she’s lived her life under the scrutiny of her fellow coven members, she’s grown stronger for it. But will it be enough for the journey to come?

After the mysterious death of their coven leader, a trial is set to find the successor. While many people will put their name in to compete, only one can win. And Raven believes that person could be her. While she’s fighting for her life, maybe she can find out the truth about why her grandmother was killed at the hands of the Dark King’s men.

There were a lot of great characters in TUW that I adored. Her best friend, Kirsi has a black leopard as a familiar. Like HOW COOL IS THAT??? She’s also queer, so you know I felt a kinship to her. She’s of my people! ✊

This was such an easy read for me, everything was so easy to follow and it’s just so magical and whimsical. The side characters/friendships were beautifully fleshed out and lovable. Oh, and let’s not forget the love interest
