The relationship between Emma and Hart made my heart stop a few times because of how they met. I’m glad that we know about the character from book one and we have officially ’met’ them.

I enjoy Scarlett Scott’s books. This would’ve been four stars had Emma not had a TSTL moment. She lost my respect then. The plot of this one was quite implausible. Was it a regular occurrence for ruined ladies to auction their virginity? Interesting premise, nonetheless.

I felt so bad for Emma. Her father was a complete failure and certainly did not deserve forgiveness or redemption for selling off his oldest daughter, despite the fact that she was already ruined. He never got his comeuppance, which bothered me.

I liked Hart’s character. He wasn’t a sexist ass. I would’ve enjoyed a bit more angst between the two MC’s. Everything came together too easily. The conflict was too quickly resolved and Hart was quick to bend over backward for Emma in every way. It was a quick read that was high on steam, but low on angst.

Hart is on the hunt to find out what happened to his brother. Emma signs up to be a man's companion for a week to help pay back her father's debts..

What starts out as a mean to get information for Hart turns into a fiery relationship between him and Emma! Their attraction to each other is strong from their first meeting. It only gets stronger the longer their together! I love how we're getting more story info on the lost brother throughout this series!!

Scarlett writes some exceptional strong heroines, and this one didn't disappoint!
