I found that the book was really triggering and I couldn’t pick it back up after reading about the pedophilia.

A read for the queer women! My only ugh about it is i wish there was more to the love story but i think the author did it on purpose, so i respect it.

Ahh so much pain in this book that sometimes it made it hard to read. But truly life hits you that way sometimes and I think the way both main characters dealt with life and its challenges was realistic. Frustrating at times but realistic.

In their universe I hope they find ways to heal together and live a happy life forever.

Side note: I want to try Sara’s cocktails

The thing to keep in mind about reviews is that they are based on the state of the reader’s emotions and experiences…. With that said, it is a good story. A bit difficult to follow at first with the connection between the two main characters not coming until much later in the story. Overall, I would say it is a story about finding yourself and loving yourself before you can love anyone else.

Queer and heartwrenching. Got lost in some of the characters sometimes, felt like some of them could have been more fleshed out. Appreciated the ending and sense of closure for both of them. However, I do think that Sara’s trauma was resolved a bit too quickly, the whole reveal felt rushed and I wish we could have had more tension build up or something to complement the beginning of the book in the same way. Great read and look forward to LaCour’s other work!
