I loved the art and felt it definitely added to the book. However, it falls flat to me in terms of being a poetry book. Most of it does not read as poetry. Some pages are just a sentence or two long. It feels incredibly repetitive; Using the same metaphors over and over again. For example, I can recall three poems comparing something to a butterfly. It’s a sweet concept but it feels very surface level.

Very sweet, I was in just the right mood to enjoy the reassuring positive affirmations.

I wanted to like this book since I really enjoy reading poetry and novel in verse style books, but this fell flat for me. I understood how the poems and prose connected to the “steps”, but it felt disjointed and disconnected. There were some inspiring, impactful quotes in this book, but it didn’t really hit home for me. There were some parts that felt oversimplified and/or repetitive. Still enjoyable but do not think I will reread this, though.

Maybe I should try publishing a book because this feels like I could do it. While it's not instagram poetry, this feels like...tiktok poetry? It's just a bunch of random observations and thoughts that everybody has had or heard before written down. Not the worst but also just not good...
There were some pages I liked and the drawings are super cute but otherwise it's...just a little flat.

This book just didn't feel as special as the Pillow Thoughts series. I found myself slogging through it, counting the pages until the next session. Not my favorite of her works.
