This book slumped me hard. The cliffhanger was Vicious, but I knew it would be...
This book much like the first was addictive I couldn't put it down! It just has the perfect addition of found family, sexual tension, and amazing characters you want to read and learn more about! Just watch out for the damn cliff

Oh... this second book did not disappoint at all. The fmc is still just as bad in book 1. Everything about this story was so freaking good. The Families and the Tier One families definitely deserve everything they earned, lol. Jojo, her family, friends and the Heir's definitely rocked it out again. I cannot wait for book 3. I can only imagine how kick @#$ it will be.

Holy doozy! I loved the first book, didn't think it could get better, and then, this book is like "here hold my beer". I do want to preface this by saying I hate the guys parents, and karma is a patient gangsta. I love the by play between Jolie and the guys, it was great to see everything starting to develop, and the characters to evolve more. There seems to be more than meets the eye, when it comes to literally every character in this book. Max is by far my favorite side character and i am gonna need more of him for sure. He lightens the mood of the book so it isn't so heavy it feels like a chore to read. If you like contemporary RH, this is a story you don't want to miss. This book does end on a cliffy...because of course it does. The next book is coming out soon, so it's fine. You will be okay to start this series now.

I enjoyed this book a lot, for very similar reasons to the first (good plot, well developed characters and relationships) but it wasn't quite as good as the first, in my opinion.
I mentioned in my review of the first book how I'm not a fan of conveniently solving problems off page by just calling up a tech guy, and unfortunately that became even more common in this book. It started to feel like Jolie wasn't actually doing much, all of her problem solving was just calling someone else to do all of the work in the background? I would have liked to see her more involved in that process, even if we got to see her creating the plans while someone else actions them. Instead we repeatedly got a fade out scene of her calling someone and vaguely mentioning "the plan", cut to the scene of some character finding out their life has been ruined via their phone or something.
Also a more minor issue but the sex scenes felt very rushed. They often had a good build up but then when they got to the action the scene would be done in a sentence or two.
Conveniently solving problems off-page by calling on the Shadows got too common in this one. Way too easy and doesn't actually feel like Jolie does a lot herself. Would have liked to see more of what's going on in the background and how she's involved.
Sex scenes feel rushed when they actually get to the action.
Besides these things, I still really enjoyed the story and relationship development and liked the book overall.
