Went into this blind and every page became weirder and weirder. Not into thrillers but this one had me seeing it to the end.

Love Blake Crouch. I’m catching up on his early works and TBH this book didn’t go the way I expected but I was very happy about that because it went better than expected!

Don't read any plot synopsis. I was unaware of anything during the book and really enjoyed myself. Also don't read anything about the sequels.

I fell out of love with Blake Crouch's work after attempting to read Abandon, which moved away from the fast-paced scifi I loved into some mad gunslinging adventure. I'm glad to say that after avoiding it on my TBR pile for a long time that Pines is more on the fast-paced scifi side than the gunslinging side. I binged it in a couple of sittings. It felt different to anything else I've been reading recently, and I'm interested to see what happens in the rest of the series.

I skipped the last 20% and the first 80% I barely hung on or remembered. I really wanted to like it, and the premise was good, but I just couldn’t like it.
