3½ ster

"Every day, we do things that are capable of changing everything, and that’s what makes life exciting."
This story sparked heaps of joy. It’s the kind of thing you read if you need cheering up, or a way to spend a lazy summer or spring day. It was charming to the point of being excessive, but not without its moments of heartache and grief. So many happy accidents and coincidences! Kindness and empathy have to always be practiced, because that’s really what makes us human. 💖

A sweet, fun, colorful, quirky read - definitely a good summer book! Liked the characters and the all twists and turns in the story.

Loved this. The book took me less than a day to read the second time round. It's nice when you read something so quickly the first time around that you forget most things. I definitely wasn't in the right frame of mind the first time I read this to process it.
This time around it was beautiful, the opening scenes had me crying and the connection I felt to all of the characters was incredible.

It’s not bad. But I realised I was forcing myself to read it and that’s not what I want my reading experience to be so I DNF at like 74%. So I gave it a go.

Sometimes you just need a formulaic yet charming British romance where all the storylines intertwine. Jill Mansell is your gal.

I found this author on a list comparing her to Sophie Kinsella whom I tend to like so I decided to try her out. I really enjoyed the characters in this book, and most of the events. The romance was slightly lacking - I just didn't feel a lot of build up of tension or chemistry and the kisses were boring. My biggest complaint though was it didn't feel like there was much of a plot. I loved everything that happened but things just happened and then it ended and I was left to wonder what was the point?
