-3 stars. i had an issue with the guy contacting the cousins the gal has explicitly told them NOT to contact. and its discussed multiple times in the book by multiple different characters how it would be a **bad** idea for him to do contact those people because the sisters have made it clear they are not welcome. AND THE DUMBASS DOES IT ANYWAY. like really? the author has gone out of her way to repeatedly write how bad an idea it would be, as though the readers need it spelled out for them again and again before they could possibly understand... and then the author writes him doing it anyway.

"so the wernicke ghost-buster cousins of yours, can they help with the womans spirit?"
ellie snorted.
brett smiled. "fakes, hua?"

"she didn't want her cousins trying to make a profit off them."

"the sisters don't want their cousins involved in the inn in any way shape or form."

"i can see that backfiring since the sisters don't want the cousins involved."

"do you want to stir up a hornet's nest with ellie and her sisters?"

"brett was afraid that if the sisters learned of it, his wolf would be cooked."

"believe me they wouldn't be amused if you tried to sneak the wernicke brothers in."

"i spoke to stanton about exorcising a ghost." she didn't respond. "ellie?" still no response. then he realized the phone line was dead.

"he knows how we feel about our cousins with regard to the inn."

see what i mean?
