i did not expect a mix of crime/mystery woven into a romance plot with heavy family moments and a sprinkle of drama.
This was very well written, plotted out and filled with good characters!
And while i’d don’t love the romance for the longest time -the guys behavior rubbed me the wrong way- it did grow in me and at the end it did work, mostly because the characters actually worked together tk make it work. so that was great.
the mystery/crime elements of this. i’ll we’re very well done as well, in my option.
i didnt see the one person coming at all, but it worked well looking back on it, how it all build up to that reveal.
so props to the author for managing to write a really well plotted out crime mystery sideplot that works so well with the romance plot of this story.
i didn’t love some small things in this, where characters didn’t behave like adults they are.
especially family members behavior towards each other was just a bit grating in some moments.
for example, Robyn’s sister behaving like a toddler instead of an adult in der mid twenties.
or how Robyn’s mother took way to long to see that her behavior was not okay at all.
BUT those moments where really small and not part of the main storyline, just little side plots and added layers to the characters behavior and background.
overall a fantastic read that i had an incredible hard time putting down before finishing it completely.
