A 3.75 for Kate Atkinson is near a 5-star rating for a lot of other authors. But this novel had so many characters and threads that I did get confused occasionally. My fault, not here, I’m sure. Still, her sense of humor shines a light in the darkness of her subject matter. The next Jackson Brodie is on my tbr. As is will be anything she publishes, really.
