y’all this is probably the saddest book i’ve read in a long time. god this book made me cry so so much. this is definitely a fantastic book not only for those wanting to pursue medicine, but those wanting to understand just exactly what makes life meaningful & death significant

Who rates the memoirs of a terminally ill man? Yes this is a sad tale made particularly harsh by the unlikelihood of this type of cancer in someone so young. And yes it is sad that all that talent and potential were cut short. But there are so many sad stories and I can't quite see why this one needed publishing. Nothing really profound here or any new insights. A little too specific to be general.

I saw this on a list of books recommended to people who have suicidal tendencies. I couldn’t quite understand why but it gave me the nudge to read this book after I’ve been curious about it for years.
Now that I have, I understand.
Easily one of the best books I’ve read.
