I’m still reading the series but it just isn’t gonna go down as one of my favorites. Minnie is just to whiny about everything. And none of the characters have any depth.

Minnie is breaking in and getting used to a new library director and a new head of the library board. They are asking funny questions and acting odd. Minnie and her cat Eddie with Julia are busy with the bookmobile which Minnie loves. A patron (and friend) doesn’t show up at the bookmobile to pick up the books she had requested. So Minnie and Julia stop by her house and find her lying in her drive in the snow. They call 911 and try to resuscitate her. She dies and Minnie’s ex-boyfriend, the detective,  turns up to tell her it was murder. Then Rowan’s children turn up asking her to help find their mother’s murderer. Reluctantly she agrees. Between asking questions and worrying about the new director, she stays busy and uncertain - and worried.

New directors have been hired at the Chilson district library, and they are asking a LOT of strange questions. The town itself is having its own strange happenings. When a member of the town is found murdered in her driveway and tiny clues may or may not lead to the killer, Minnie steps in to help out the local police force.

I loved this one! This installment had the perfect mix of mystery, small town life, and relationships. There are just so many good side characters in this series and so many funny bits - just these sly little asides- and Eddie is just awesome.
