I liked this one! I had read The Weaver and the Witch previously (it was alright) and am happy that I gave this one a chance, because I liked it a lot more!

Calm, plodding, and filled with folklore.

This one is a bit slow. I might come back to it later, but right now I need something that'll grip me and move faster.

this was a fun take on norse mythology. excellent tone setting. light on plot, but that didn't feel like a bad thing. it felt like a study in immersing into a fairy tale world, with plot and character development progressing with a plodding inevitability driven by the demands of time and fate and myth. which I usually would consider a count against, but in this book, I feel like it works somehow. tldr, good vibes

A fantastic take on Norse mythology, centring a woman’s voice and story. I loved this and it was one of those books I genuinely didn’t want to put down.
