Love

I’m really liking this series a lot. I dread when it ends. But curious to see how it ends as well.

Oh my lord, this series.. I remember absolutely loving this series to death. I recently found out that the Crane Diaries have been published a long time ago, and have been thinking about rereading this series. Like I said, I loved this series to death, but at the time I was around 15 years old. I was definitely afraid of not liking it as much as I used to.

In a way, I suppose I didn’t. I remember loving everything about Mattie; she’s everything I wanted to be. She is one helluva badass girl, who has been through so much shit and is still caring and honest to herself.
However, she is also 16 years old and can be one helluva brat. And yet, I seemed to not mind it as I was rereading The Ghost Files, not as much as I was supposed to. Maybe that’s part of the nostalgia, who knows? I’ll just roll with it.

It’s also kind of ridiculous that she has what, four love interests in this book alone? She’s sixteen for cripes sake, and is fighting off ghosts who seem to be after her. Ain’t nobody got time for four damn love interests.

Oh, well. Still can’t deny that this series has a special place in my heart, despite some of its ridiculous aspects

This was another of my bookbub deals, figured I may as well read it because 'tis the season' and all that. I love a good story with a heroine that can see ghosts. Ghosts have always fascinated me and while reading this book Mattie reacted just as I felt I would have in similar situations.
Back story and detailing was not completely in depth but solid enough for you to welcome the characters. A few plot lines were introduced but never followed up on, biggest being what happened to her so called boyfriend? At the least it could have been written in that he failed to visit a single time while she was in and out those last few days and she decided they had officially broken up.
Overall was a great read

Ummmm 3.5 I'd say. liked it. I'd read the next book. The ending was a surprise to me. Buuuuuut there were parts where I was ready for it to be over.

The concept is really cool and I liked some parts, but overall I thought it was just ok. I felt like it was messy and sometimes it was really all over the place. Also I struggled with her relationships with men in general, just doesn’t seem right.
I’ll probably read the sequels because I’m a sucker for punishment.
