I read this book for the first time almost two years ago, and when I heard the audiobook was coming out I KNEW I needed to listen to it!

Rach and Pres are just as wonderful together the second time around. They bring out the best in each other, and understand each other so deeply. They’re like salt and chocolate - two very different flavors going incredibly well together and adding new layers of depth to each other.

The narration was excellent! I feel like she got the Rach vibe so well, and it added even more to the story.

Amanda Gambill is my favorite indie author for a reason - her characters have so much depth and chemistry. Every scene feels important, and on a second read that was made even more apparent. 5 stars!

Thank you to Amanda, Dreamscape, and NetGalley for the ALC and the opportunity to leave an honest, voluntary review!

Honestly, my original review was higher (3.5), but this book has somehow been living rent-free in my head and I had to come back and edit. Rach has this massive, potentially career-ending secret she is keeping from Pres,
that her mother was a conartist and a felon, in prison, and it ended up being a massive nothing burger for someone running for office with future goals?
I understand how our country sits currently, but this still feels like the "big secret" should've been either more fleshed out and more threatening OR something much more innocuous for how the story ended. I liked the matchup of Pres and Rach, but gosh. I cannot get this inconsistency out of my head. Bummer.

This was such a fun read!
I didn’t really expect much because i didn’t know the author. But this book was actually so good! I laughed more than i normally do when reading books and this might be because the jokes and funny situations were actually funny.
The chemistry between Rach and Pres was solid and believable. And the tension… don’t get me started on the tension😩.
This book had everything i need in a rom-com.
The only „critique“ i have is that the author sometimes started showing a situation and then jumped back in time to a different situation. Since it happened without any real indication where we are right in this moment and obviously both situations are written in past tense it was sometime a little confusing to tell if we started a „flashback“ and if the „flashback“ ended and we‘re back to the present.
All in all i really enjoyed the book and i hope the author continues writing!!

I really didn't think I would like this book at first because of the secondhand embarrassment in the beginning, but I ended up really enjoying Pres and Rach's story. I'm not the biggest fan of fake dating, but it was hard not to fall in love with their chemistry and seeing them realize their love for each other. I loved the balance Pres and Rach bring each other, and of course, most of all, I love Pres and his gruffness and how wholeheartedly he loves Rach. <333

Someone should’ve beat Ethan’s ass tho.

Honestly, I totally loved this book!

Fake dating is my absolute favorite romance trope, and this was SO ADORABLE! I loved it so much!

The first thirty pages had a bunch of secondhand embarrassment, but once I got into the actual plot of the book I couldn’t stop reading. I loved Rach and Pres, I loved their growth together, and I will definitely be rereading this book in the future. 5 stars.
