Years ago, Michael Burke was a guest speaker in a creative writing course I took. He is not a well-known writer, but he is a very gifted one. In class he read his short story "Eulogy" which is excellent and is the first in this collection. It's a powerful story about disconnection and isolation in the suburbs, and it's still my favorite of the twenty stories in What You Don't Know About Men. I hadn't read the story since 2011, but it stuck with me, and I was happy to rediscover Michael Burke's work after all these years.
