Una historia bonita, pero, aún teniendo en cuenta que es infantil, me parece que le falta chica. La aventura se resuelve en un par de escenas y los personajes son demasiado derivativos del original.

Adorable! Growing up, I was always a big fan of the Disney film Great Mouse Detective, and a little later on in life, I discovered it was based on a book series. I'm so happy I was able to check this out. Similar to the film, Basil is the greatest detective in all the world... second to Sherlock Holmes, of course. What I think was quite adorable is Basil and Dawson are fans of the great Holmes and Waston. Yet, this story and as I assume the other books are and will be different from the film. And I'm excited to read what the others have in story.

We slowly read this to go along with our Forensic Science unit study.
Eliana’s review: “Can they just get to the point already? It’s ok but they’re too chit chatty.” Same, girl. Same.

4 STARS!!
This was so much fun to read. I just finished A Study in Scarlet and unintentionally I was reading this as if this story was taking place during the first Sherlock Holmes book and it made it a whole lot more exciting. The Disney movie is one of my favorite animated movies of all time and I wish they had made sequels to the movie. I love these new re-issued covers too! I kind of want to own them all now. - Richard

3.5/5, I think watching the Disney film ruined my enjoyment of this one. The Disney film seemed more mature and sophisticated, though it still had its problems. This book is definitely more for the younger set, 6-9, rather than 9-12.
