I LOVE THIS BOOK. It should be required reading in schools. It teaches so much about friendships, learning to change your opinion, growth, and more importantly: BLACK LIVES MATTER. I'm a white person, who has MUCH respect for the Black community and the hardships they face. I've been to a BLM protest in my small town. I ended my relationship with my biological father when he told me that racism doesn't exist. I do my best to support Black authors and artists. But there's always more to learn, more to soak in, and more heartache. This book is so true to life with the case that gets mentioned throughout the book and it breaks my heart that it's a reality. However, I think this book handled it PHENOMENALLY. I learned so much more, and I'm forever, and ever grateful for that.
This book is an instant favourite. Heavy stuff aside, I loved the voice, the pace, the relationships and growth. Such a good book. I wish I could put this more succinctly, but that's all I can manage to say right now: I loved this book.

Minor: Death, Racism, Xenophobia, and Police brutality
This book deals with the Black Lives Matter movement. There are moments of racism, police brutality (and subsequent death), and xenophobia. However, this book handles everything with great care.
