I’d probably give this 4.5 stars if I could. I just had a hard time with location/ setting details. I’ve lived half of my life in Michigan and can’t figure out where Anne’s home is supposed to be set. It would make sense if they were on the East side of the state, or in Chicago, but it keeps referencing Michigan’s Lake Michigan shoreline. What elite college town with extreme wealth is there on the coast of Lake Michigan in Michigan? And there were things listed in detail south west coast of Florida (where I’ve lived the other half of my life) that just didn’t compute. I’d say a little more research, (or don’t add the details if you don’t have the facts). Story-wise, it was so beautiful, I am still thinking about these women and their effect on each other days later. I’d recommend this to every mother, daughter, grandmother out there.
