there's undoubtedly some good recipes in here. I made a couple of them. But, a lot of it isn't for me. First, there's the problem of this book being huge. The sections kind of only make a certain amount of sense because of how big it is. This isn't the books fault, but I don't give a hoot about a lot of these anecdotes. But that's a me thing. I have the same problem with a lot of food blogs. At least it's easier in a book to know when the important recipe stuff starts.
I have the same problem with this as I do with lots of recipe books, there's not a good gauge for how much they think a single person can eat. Serves four means different things in different recipes. I wish they would clearly say "serves 4 by itself" or "serves 4 with side' or "serves 4 as side" something like that to let me know how much they think is actually being made.
The flavor ideas in this book are great, and I ended up using that more than any of the recipes.

I liked the text and the concept. Most of the recipes and a few too many ingredients were outside of the sorts of things I would personally cook, though, or easily find.

Fun and interesting, and more than a cookbook. Marcus Samuelsson tells the stories associated with each of the recipes in the book. The recipes sound yummy, and the photography goes beyond the usual food shots to include some of the scenes associated with each recipe.
