Truly *almost* perfect. I was so emotionally invested throughout this whole series that I was worried about how it'd all end, but I was not disappointed. My reader heart feels so full.

My only criticism
is that Hassan's inclusion began to feel flat and unnecessary at points, and Khepri didn't always feel like the same headstrong, independent woman she was introduced as back in book one. Which, character growth and all that, but she didn't strike me as a character who would soften.

But
Jude and Anton will have my heart forEVER. 🥺😭🖤

Overall: 5/5
Characters: 5/5
Plot: 5/5
Ending: 5/5
Angsty gay romance that made me cry: 5/5

Wow. What a finale and what an ending. I'm so happy with the ending, no matter how hard I cried at it. I knew I would be heartbroken and I was right to be prepared, but I wasn't expecting to be sobbing in the middle of the night while my roommate sleeps soundly across the room.

Ephyra and Illya. Let's just say, I could read a whole side novel about them and probably still want more. I love the development in their characters and how they grew to care about each other. I wanted more scenes between them, and I want to know what happens after the book ends, and they temporarily part ways- which I found to be very true to their characters and felt right to me, no matter how much I want them to be together now.

Beru and Hector. My beloved, my poor babies, what tragedy has befallen you, and what did you do to deserve it? Beru is so strong and so underrated in my opinion. Her ending ripped me to shreds, and no matter how badly I wish for something different, I don't think anything would feel as right as this one does. And Hector. Oh, how I miss you. Gone but not forgotten, you deserved better than what you got but I still wouldn't change it. His ending is what pushed everyone else over to the finale, so his sacrifice was not in vain. That doesn't mean I didn't cry. A lot.

Hassan. To be honest, probably my least favorite character, if I can even say that because I love all the characters so much. I think it might be that, after the first book and half of the second, his character didn't feel too essential to the plot. He was there, and it was nice to see things from his perspective and know his input, but I feel like he didn't advance the story all that much. His relationship with Khepri is so cute though.

Jude and Hector. Saved the best for last. I love these characters more than I love myself, and they are so perfect for each other that I've shipped them since I met them. I just knew they were destined to be together, and I'm so glad they prevailed in the end. Their wedding chapter made me Cry. So. Hard. I've reread that specific chapter at least three times after finishing the book, as well as their last chapter of domestic bliss. I'm so glad that they got the break that they so deserved, to just live and be with each other.

This thrilling finale is a fitting end to my favorite series. It truly does the characters justice and ties up all the loose ends. This ending will leave you heartbroken, happy, and satisfied.

bro they should have been a friend group like this the entire time, why tf did it take them two whole books to meet everyone

I actually really liked the ending though, didn't expect to care a lot about the series but I do more than I would have thought
