Why does it say that our main girl is fifteen but according to the contents of the book, it repeatedly says she's thirteen. What a weird mistake. Anyways, the book was jam packed with unnecessary details. I did not enjoy reading it, but I was able to finish it just to see if something will happen. The turning point came and went so fast that I don't understand how things supposedly fit like a puzzle. It was as if elements were thrown haphazardly to prove that this book means something when really, there's none.

A somewhat dark story about a teenage girl who has one off the rails a bit. Disturbing but brilliant

This was quite sad and mysterious. I love Kevin Brooks and i have only read three books from him. This one is my first book from him that is from a girls perspective. I personally enjoy Kevin's writing more from a boys perspective. This was a bewildering book. When i was 2 chapters in, i was thinking how strange this character was. I was questioning the motives of the main character. And even now that i am finished i am still full of questions. And its only fair that i leave you with questions too.

That was terrible. It was kind of good.

It was so different from the Bunker Diary. So incredibly, incredibly different. It made me feel very different things, too. And you know how I always say that a book is good when it makes you feel something.

I just...
I can't with this one.
What do I even say about this.
Just...

I need to read more Kevin Brooks, asap.

I really enjoyed this book even if it was majorly depressing and nothing like the novels I would normally read.

It tells the story of Dawn, a 15 year old who has every right to hate God even if she doesn't believe He exists. Two years previously Dawn's father becomes a born again Christian, after that he is obsessed with God and Christ and this then ruins Dawn's life.

It was heart aching and terrifying to see how something can change somebody's personality. It was real. Really real. The trauma Dawn experienced is clear throughout the book. I loved the way it was portrayed.

Characters: 8/10

Enjoyment: 7/10
Overall: 8/10

A solid 4 stars.

In the USA the title of this book is Dawn. I really enjoyed the writing in this book, had to keep reminding myself it was by Kevin Brooks. He included lines from songs, the Bible, and poetry. I like the variety and structure of this book.
The main character comes to terms with being an outcast and deals with herself too.

Not my favorite Kevin Brooks book, the story was a bit of an anti-climax considering his previous books. Although the ending was something I would come to expect of Brooks, all the same I was disappointed at the lack of violence and intensity throughout.

Killing God really surprised me, it went in a very different direction then what I expected when I started reading. I thought it was an excellent YA book and really enjoyed Dawns character and discovering her story.

Brooks does not pull any punches, Killing God deals with some very though stuff, and I for one, appreciate that very much.
