Yay for another Serafina read!! I enjoyed this one and thought some of the concepts (won't go into spoiler territory, but definitely some ambitious storytelling!) were super neat. It wasn't my favorite of the Serafina series, mainly because there wasn't much interaction between Serafina and Braeden (and that's always my favorite parts of these books). However it was very fun to see Braeden's darker side and I thought this was a great conclusion to the Black Cloak plot arc of the first 3 books!

Awesome fact first- this author was a former CEO / early pioneer of cloud computing / founder of a robotics company and I so so so love that his midlife career change was to write awesome books that involve shape shifting cat people for his three daughters. It’s never to late y’all! (Not the first kid-inspired author I’ve heard of either. Justin Cronin wrote The Passage for his daughter who wanted ‘a zombie story’)

I really enjoy this middle grade series and this third installment didn’t disappoint. However, it took place in the woods and outside of the manor a lot more than the previous two, which made it loose a touch of charm for me. I am looking forward to Beatty’s new series which he promises to merge character with this one at some point!

The third installment of the Serafina series was yet another brilliant addition. Robert leads you through the story in the way you are used to: with vivid descriptions strengthened by a magnificent choice of words. He lets you fall in love with the characters, and it leaves you a bit empty when the story is over. In a complete positive way. Really enjoyed this one!

The first of it dragged, but the ending was great. A true theme of friendship and good versus evil prevailing.
