Mostly interesting but also generally poorly written. About 2/3 of the way through I wished I was finished already.

It seemed intresting but I don't have the time to dig into it, plus I got it from the library. I might pick it up again.

Very interesting look at the women’s punk/riot grrrrl movement of the 90s. It’s very wild how history keeps repeating itself!!! Definitely thought some of the critiques of the movement at the time came across as unorganized but I suppose that’s in line with the decentralization of the movement itself. Also thought it was weird that the author randomly discredits Fiona Apple and Alanis Morrisette as angry women of the machine!!! But I digress. Overall very good.

there are so many ways in which teens are all the same (complimentary), so many of these activist fights are tale as old as time even when the specifics change. I'm glad I read this book, Kathleen Hanna is such an icon. in my soul I was meant to be a teen for riot grrrl (even though I was a neonate). would love a follow-up chapter for the riot grrrl revival.
