This book was a little overly religious for me. I am not Catholic and I wasn't raised in a religious atmosphere, so this book was a little too much for me. I look at churches as beautiful pieces of architecture and art, and sometimes as small keepers of some part of history. But I do not have any emotional attachments to any of them, in the end, they are just buildings for me. So, the whole idea of going through so much trouble to save an old church is very foreign for me.

A good read. Suspensful mystery of three deaths at a catholic church in Seville. Father Quart investigates.

Interesting. I'd like to give it a reread, I spent too much time trying to figure out who was who that some of the deeper parts flew by on audio. I'm not sure if I missed all the clues to solve the mystery or if there just wasn't any. I think it was the latter. I liked the bumbling criminals even if they felt like caricatures.

There is no better book about today's struggle between one's greed and saving history. This is a story of the grey area between black and white , where truth lies.

Like his other books, this novel started out fast. The pacing was great and I was pulled right in. But after about 30 pages, the pace slowed to a crawl and, for me, it never recovered. Like the two other books of his I read, the conclusion was rushed and seemed too neat. I'm happy I read this book but feel that The Flanders Panel or The Club Dumas are better works.

a delicious game where history, religion, adventure and a detective meet.
