This was great! I really enjoyed reading it and it got me out of a mini reading slump. Danica and Samael were fun to read about, with lots of sexual tension and amusing dialogue. The plot was tightly woven. The book wrapped things up nicely but left a few threads for book two, which I'm excited to read when it releases next month! 4.5 stars.

4.5 stars. Honestly I enjoyed this. Samael is a little too domineering for me but I mean, I guess it's to be expected. He is a demon. I enjoyed Danica's portions of the book more, and I really liked the world-building and seeing it get fleshed out. This book takes place in a world where portals opened and released supernatural creatures and now humans and supernaturals mix. There are demons, witches, fae, werewolves, etc. It was pretty well done, enough to make me excited for the next one.

A 3.5 Star Story.⭐️💥
Speak of the Demon: Deals with Demons, Book 1
By: Stacia Stark
🎧 Audiobook Narrated By: Amanda Leigh Cobb
Length: 8 hrs and 19 mins
📖 Ebook Read Using Kindle Unlimited

This was a good audiobook. I liked the narrator. She had a good range of voices and held my interest throughout.👏

The mfc, Danica, is a bounty hunter. She's only got a trickle of power. She's trying to find whoever m¥rdered her mum. During a chase and interrogation, her suspect gets 'offed' by an arrow!😳 More troubling is the fact that it happens in the most powerful demons territory.

He demands a payment, especially when he discovers she has a blade she stole from him 6 months ago.🙈 So he places a demon bond on her. He has someone m¥rdering demons and wants her help to find and despatch them all. She's given 2 weeks to complete it, or she stays his!😱

This was a decent read and listen. I really liked Vas.😍 There's obviously a lot more to her heritage than we've learned.

I don't think I'll continue with the series. I wasn't invested enough, unfortunately.

Why is this actually a good book though, I fully had low expectations as it was free on stuff your kindle day. I actually am annoyed that I like it because I for sure will be reading and buying more of this series. I thought it had a good amount of lore/history, character building, and tension. I was a bit annoyed I didn’t get more of the romance banter but I feel like that is what is sucking me into the next book. The only thing I hate is that there are four more books to this series and I’m not sure I’m THAT committed.

3.5 stars. I enjoyed it (the demons, the worldbuilding, the mystery) but I strongly disliked how arrogant/controlling/alpha male the lead was.
