I received this book in return for an honest review. To be honest I am not normally a fan of books with paranormal elements I have only read a couple of authors that keep my interest. But Piper Davenport does not disappoint with this book! Pepper and Connall have a instant connection but we still get to see them build their relationship. This book has several twists that I did not see coming and it is a definite page turner! I loved reading about the family and other characters in the story. Though this is the second book in the series you won't be lost if you have not read the first book. If you are looking for a funny heroine and strong hero then this book is for you! It has suspense, romance, action and humor. If you are a fan of paranormal you will enjoy this book and if you are like me and don't read that genre that often you will still enjoy it! I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I recently have fallen in love with Tracey Jane Jackson, and so far I have loved this series. This is the second book, and I decided it would be good to read this series in order...so I am. Bound By Fire, revolves around Pepper and Connall. Both of these characters we see from the first book. Connall is the brother of Kade (The King of the Caulde Ane). His mate, is Pepper's best friend. Pepper has been keeping secrets from everyone that she knows and loves, but only to protect them. When she gets herslelf in a situation she has no way out of, she meets Connall who senses the panic of his mate. Connall has gone hundreds of years, without the hope of a mate until he meets Pepper, and then he knows that she is his destiny.

This was such a intense yet romantic story that just has totally won me over. From the first book, I could tell I would adore this series and so far my instinct is right. I love the voice of this storyteller, that has created a world that is full of mystery and magic. I really enjoyed the take on this installment, and how different it was from the first book. We see such a deep development of characters in this story, and I enjoyed Pepper--she has pizazz and spunk. She is a fighter and boy does she argue with Connall in every moment---quite enjoyable seeing their interactions with each other. Connall...is well very swoon worthy, he was such a great hero, and I loved him from the beginning. He definitely deserves someone that can handle him, and Pepper keeps him on his toes.

Overall a fun and intense plot that kept me on edge and without being descriptive, a fully romantic and sensual romance that will have you craving for more. A sweet and poignant story to keep a tissue on hand. SIMPLY WONDERFUL!!

Really a fan of this series

I’m binge reading this series which I just discovered...read the first two books today. I really like these characters...can’t really encapsulate why...they just resonate with me. There are some plot holes that have yet to be filled...things get thrown out and then not quite dealt with. We still never solved the blood mystery that started the whole series in book one. And there seems to be an awful lot about their species that these paranormals don’t know.

Once again the bad actor is pretty obvious once we get a little background information. Not quite clear how he’d have the abilities or resources to be doing what he’s doing though. It’s never explained and that’s problematic. It also seems to be a pattern as we never got that how and why resolution in book one either.

But those irritations aren’t enough to keep me from moving on to book three in the series.

Hmmm...

I don't dislike this book but I felt like there was so much going on. I'm also not super sure how I feel about Pepper as a character. She has some issues (don't we all) but she seemed so unwilling to bend in so many ways. I think some of it was explained by her gift and some by past trauma... but still. Connell seemed like such a nice guy and he really did try but she was against him for things that were kind of out of his control (amassed wealth, large house, owning stables).

The stalkerish plot was interesting... but there was something going on that bothered me a little. Why would she have kept her old phone and still turned it on and everything? I haven't touched my old phone since I changed phones. Also, why not just use telepathic communication and tell Connell what was going on instead of throwing herself into danger? It seemed a little unnecessary.

Overall, it was a good continuation of the story and I did like reading it.
