This book made me so flipping mad. A lovable character, a quirky town, a plethora of weird pets...all ruined when the author decided to add an entirely unnecessary exchange seemingly for the sole purpose of being transphobic. The resolution was also lame and kinda homophobic tbh.

I enjoyed it. It was fun. Although I feel like the identity of the killer kind of just came out of nowhere. Well not nowhere exactly but. It just felt a little random when it was revealed

2.5ish stars. This one was slightly better than the 1st one but still had a lot of repeating a few lines later. Might still continue the series since they are quick reads.

This was kind of a lighthearted, goofy cozy mystery. Doreen was starting to figure out her life, post divorce. Mack was still being driven crazy by Doreen and her trio of animals. Yet, he couldn't deny the number of times Doreen proved helpful to the police.

I liked Mack and Doreen is banter. I also thought the strangeness of this little town was interesting.

The narration was ok. Sometimes, due to 5he cadence and tone of the narrator, I would find myself zoning out and have to rewind in order to pick up what I missed.

The second book in the Lovely lethal Garden series, Doreen doesn't seem to catch a break as she finds bones in the begonias. One thing leads to another as Doreen unearths one clues after another, leading to a very exasperated Mack. I do wish Doreen would show the same bravery in her personal life as she shows while solving the cases. Who knows what the future books bring.
I enjoyed the book thoroughly. On to the next.
