This was a very entertaining and engaging book. The characters were interesting and the story’s pacing was overall pretty decent. It was a quick in the first half and then it slowed down a little on the second half at times and my attention did wane a little. Getting deeper into the story you start to notice that not everything is as it should be and that there are more forces at play then you initially realize, and you’re learning about these new threads as the characters your following learn about them too which makes it very immersive. Overall a solid debut, and I look forward to seeing what the next book brings.

So honestly the story and world building is 4/5 but the length of this book and the fact that it is the first in a series I will probably not continue reading makes it a 2/5 - so the average is a 3
