There are stories that you don’t realize that set your world of imagination from the moments that you finish them. When I was a child, the spiderwick chronicles was my favorite. It was a world that satisfied the yearning I had for a world that existed alongside the real world.

I didn’t realized that both the illustrator and the author were ones that I would meet again as I got older. From dungeons and dragons to other more grown up books. So I wanted to dive back into the world of Spiderwick. I’m so glad I did because I was like this was the bar of standards I had for things as I grew older. Now I must recommend this book to everyone of all ages.

ouuu, i quite enjoyed the part where we got to see the elves, since that was definitely not in the movie, so it was something new and exciting, also the way jared handled it was quite clever.
maybe it's a bit silly to compare it to the movie, but that's the only reference point i got, and i also know that book and movie never are the same, so i did expect new and different stuff, but i severely underestimated how delighted i'd be reading it.
