It was really good in the beginning. However, I felt the end was rushed and kind of lackluster. Regardless, the romance was a 3/5. The characters had a lot of potential. I think it would’ve been better if the book was a bit longer with more thought out scenes.

The beast was, pretty much, a vampire and it make it a bit boring. The beast was just an angry Edward Collin who didn’t sparkle in the sun. It was giving, “this is the skin of a killer, Bella” vibes.mimmi020220's review against another edition

I love it. Simple as that....I really enjoyed this book. A LOT.
Love Jak and Marius.
I think this is my fave out of the darkmoud books ...looking forward to read the next...and hopefully get to meet Jak and Marius again! Like in the end of KoIT.

I can’t say this was a good book. The plot was painfully predictable and if you asked me to define Jack’s personality to you, I wouldn’t know how because it felt so inconsistent.
However, this book cared about the chemistry between Marius and Jack. And boy, chemistry they had. Pretty much right from the beginning I knew they had the fire for an amazing enemies-to-lovers relationship.
I enjoyed myself thoroughly reading this and exploring the possibilities of a gay beauty and the beast.
