A very, very enjoyable fantasy story. Looking forward to the next book.

This is where the series starts to find its footing and introduce some more of the main characters. The world and the storyline start to come together more here, and the added sense of mystery/suspense with Stone and Jason looking for Verity makes for a compelling read.

3.5 stars.
Good plotting and pacing, good atmosphere, some weak characterization and the dialog is pretty bad most of the time, but that felt like "new writer" stuff that will improve with time.
